It’s official, Dynamo has a brand new TV show in the works, and we couldn’t be more excited. Although little has been revealed about his upcoming project, here’s everything you need to know to get you pumped.

Dynamo, real name Steven Frayne, first appeared on our television screens back in 2011 with his hit show, Dynamo: Magician Impossible. The show, which ran for four series and established the Bradford-born magician as a household name, was followed by numerous tv appearances, a book deal, and a sensational live tour, Seeing Is Believing.

Having flourished throughout the early 2010s, reaching a level of notoriety most magicians dream of, he took a hiatus around 2017 due to health complications, including living with Crohn’s Disease and suffering a serious bout of food poisoning.

Thankfully, he recovered and returned with a new series called Dynamo: Beyond Belief, which premiered on Sky One in March 2020 and therefore made the perfect viewing at the start of the lockdown (remember those days?)

Now, it has been reported that he’ll be returning to Sky with a brand new series, currently titled Dynamo: Mind Over Magic, although this is subject to change. What we do know is that the new show is currently in preproduction. It will be produced by Expectation and promises a twist on the classic magic show genre.

There’s no better time for a brand-new Dynamo TV series. Firstly, three years is a long time to wait since his last show, and we’re all in need of our Dynamo fix. Secondly, he recently re-emerged into the public consciousness with his appearance at the coronation of King Charles III.

Dynamo is an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust, a charity aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs that was founded by then Prince Charles in the 1970s, having received a loan in 2003 to support his career as a magician.

Without that support, Dynamo would not have been able to make his magical mark on the world, so it made sense for him to be invited to the coronation as a representative of the charity. Plus, as Charles is also a Member of The Magic Circle (surprise!), it’s likely they hung out afterwards, jamming all night.

Aside from knowing who’s producing the show, what channel it’s on and a proposed working title, that’s all the information we have about it I’m afraid. Don’t worry; we’ll update you as soon as there’s more to be revealed. Even so, this is really exciting news for fans of the Big D.

In other telly-related news, we can report that Penn & Teller: Fool Us will be returning with its 10th Season, but this time with a brand new host.

Brooke Burke will be taking the reins presenting the show, which has been hosted by Alyson Hannigan since season three, before which it was Jonathan Ross. It is unclear why Alyson will be stepping aside, but don’t worry; Penn and Teller will be sticking around - hopefully for a while yet!
